Presidio Announces Combined Network
Services Firm
Computerwire/Datamonitor - April 5, 2007 - Patrick Wachter
Section: 06. Computing Services
Privately held infrastructure services provider Presidio has combined
three separate entities to become a $750m network equipment reseller
and integrator, the company announced this week.
Presidio Networked Solutions, as the new business is known, joins
Presidio with Presidio Networked Solutions and Solarcom Holdings.
All three firms have experience in the core network services areas
such as security, hosting, remote management, servers, storage,
wireless and IP telephony, the company said Bob Murphy, division
president at Presidio. Presidio, meanwhile, has specific experience
in legacy telephone services, and Solarcom brings disaster recovery
services as well as leasing and asset refurbishment experience,
Murphy said.
The company focuses on the East Coast and Gulf Coast regions of
the US. It serves a range of commercial and government clients,
with revenue split 60%-40%, respectively. On the commercial side,
Presidio says its client base includes half of the Fortune 5000.
Some if its enterprise accounts include Aventis Pharmaceuticals,
Cox Communications, and Staples, and the company also reaches down
into the midmarket. Government customers include states and localities,
plus a range of federal agencies, including Commerce, Homeland Security,
Treasury, and various defense agencies.
Annual growth for the firm is about 20%, Murphy said. With the
newly formed company in place, there aren't any plans for further
acquisitions at this time, he added. The company's lead investor
is Columbia Capital.
