Arkphire started life as Memorex Telex, part of the Memorex Corporation (which some have suggested was the original tech silicon valley start-up computer company) manufacturing CDs and other technology peripherals.
In the 80s Memorex acquired Specialist Machine Services Ltd, the country’s leading IBM computer maintenance company and built Ireland’s first fully operational, high security computer centre to serve as a back-up system for disaster mitigation, such as flood or fire.
Following a takeover in 1998, Memorex rebrands as EDS Global Services, which was acquired by the German owned IT provider AO Group in 2006.
In 2009, the company returns to Irish ownership, following a management buyout led by Pascal Naylor and Howard Roberts.
In 2011, the company rebrands as Arkphire, with a new logo inspired by the Archimedean Spiral, symbolising our ethos of continuous evolution.
